Animal Crossing New Leaf Patch Comes 4 Years After Launch, Adds Amiibo Support

Nintendo is pulling people back to their quickly deteriorating animal village in Animal Crossing: New Leaf with a new update almost four years after launch.

Also a year after the line’s launch, the game will be receiving support for Animal Crossing amiibo cards. Similar to how the cards worked in Happy Home Designer, the cards will be used to make certain villagers move into your neighborhood. The figures made for Amiibo Festival will also work in this game, but it is unknown how at this time.

Other Amiibo will also work in the game, as it is shown that the Callie and Marie amiibo will unlock items and clothing based off the characters.

The update will be released this Fall.
