June 7th, Tetsuya Nomura promised a new trailer for the latest installment of the Kingdom Hearts series. He did not disappoint.

Kingdom Hearts II.8 Final Chapter Prologue is, as the title suggests, a prologue to Kingdom Hearts III, the end of the Xehanort saga. It includes two games and a film which are as follows. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, a port of the Nintendo 3DS title in which Sora and Riku must dive into the Land of Dreams in order to wake the Sleeping Worlds and become Keyblade Masters.

The next title is Kingdom Hearts 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage- which is a short title starring Aqua of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep fame. It tells the story of what happened to her after the events of Birth by Sleep in the Realm of Darkness. It will run on the Kingdom Hearts III engine giving players a chance to feel out the game.

Finally, a short film, Kingdom Hearts χ: Back Cover, will be included. It takes place at the same time as the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ. It will help to shed light over the mysterious Keyblade War.

No official release date has been announced, but the game is scheduled for December 2016 with a global release. At the end of the new trailer, Square announces that more information about the actual Kingdom Hearts III will be released this winter.
