Youtube Launching New Streaming Service

Youtube tried to buy Twitch last year, but it didn’t turn out how they hoped. Amazon ended up buying the service. Twitch is now one of the most viewed sites on the internet. Google and Youtube are now trying to launch a competitor to Twitch.

Youtube already supports live streams, but are now trying to start it up. According to Daily Dot there are already 50 engineers on the project. The source had this to say to them:

“Gaming and esports in particular are going to be a big driving force for the new-look YouTube Live,” one source said. “There’ll be huge opportunities for established streamers and organizations soon and I would say that the record numbers of esports viewers are only going to grow when Google start promoting and partnering with these events.”
